Chris Milk

Chris Milk was born and raised in New York. He attended art school at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. While there, Chris paid his way through school as a freelance AVID editor, started a film production company (Spoon Fed Films), and won the highly respected Gold Clio Award while still a student. Soon thereafter, he was honored in the 2000 Saatchi & Saatchi New Director Showcase presented at Cannes.

Advertisers such as DeBeers, Nintendo, and Nike have repeatedly tapped Chris' twisted sense of humor and innovative visual style. In 2004 he expanded from commercials to music videos with his music directorial debut for The Chemical Brothers. Since then he has worked with such names as U2, Green Day, Kanye West, Audioslave, Gnarls Barkley, Courtney Love, Modest Mouse, Jet, The Breeders, and John Mellencamp. His videos have garnered MTV Moon Men, Grammy nominations, BET Video of the Year, France’s Festival Du Clip Video of the Year, UK’s CAD Award, D&AD’s, Telly’s, and six MVPA Awards including “Video of the Year” for Audioslave in 2007, and the top award in 2008, "Director of the Year".

Chris has cultivated close relationships with certain musicians leading to multiple projects in multiple mediums with each. Kanye West, U2, and Gnarls Barkley are all frequent collaborators.

Whether promoting sneakers, video games, or musicians, Milk's offbeat style ranges from charming to razor-sharp, but often both simultaneously. What remains constant throughout is a clever, iconoclastic, and thoroughly engaging vision.

Milk currently lives in Los Angeles and is represented by @radical.media for commercials and music videos, and the William Morris Agency for feature films.
